The Wii Game is Making People Be Meanies, and Me Be Mad!

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Okay, okay, everybody…I give up. WHERE can I find the Wii game!! My kids are going crazy saying they want this game for Christmas and I cannot find it anywhere. I repeat ANYWHERE!! My name is on several lists all over town and I haven’t gotten one phone call yet. Every time I hear it’s somewhere, I race over there only to find that it’s gone or they “just sold their last one. Sorry.”

I’m beginning to think that the Wii powers don’t want us to get this game. So, while I’m supposed to be giving out advice at this blog, I greatly need your help so that I can help the other readers. Where is the Wii game!!!

On Black Friday, a friend of mine and I went shopping for all the latest and greatest deals. We started out, of course, on the hunt for the Wii. We stood in three lines for a total of five hours and turned up nothing. Not a thing. Na-da.  What gives? We had money in hand, a desperate look on our faces and still nothing. There was one man that stood in line…oh my gosh…he stood in line with us for some of that three hours and guess what? He did not need nor did he even want a WII. He was standing in line to get a Wii, an X-box and a PlayStation 3 all to sell to desperate folks like myself, on eBay. Now while I’m all for making a deal, turning a profit and being a savvy business person, I do not like manipulation of any kind. Now everyone knows the Wii is selling for $250 or so. This guy was going to sell it to us for $350! All because he knew we wanted it, badly, and he knew he didn’t need it.  What do you do with mean people like that?

No Sunday paper?

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I look forward to the weekly ads and coupons in my Sunday newspaper, but if you don’t get a Sunday paper, there are still ways to find coupons and the savings are no farther away then your computer! Most stores offer their weekly ads online. Just go to the store’s website and look for a weekly ad link. You can browse page by page and get a close up look at the sale items. Lots of times, I’ll forget and throw out my Target ad and find myself browsing online to see what they have on sale.

You can also check out various websites for printable coupons. Check out Wow-Coupons for tons of printable coupons. You also can find them on some of your favorite products’ websites. Try this site for some great Target coupons!

Get organized

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

For some reason, every year when school starts, I feel the need to get organized. At some point, usually after I’ve spent a fortune on items to help me get that way, the urge passes and I drop back into my disorganized state. Now that school has started, I find myself looking for cute but functional organizational items.

These storage boxes are not only stylish, but they’re also functional. From $9.99 - $14.99 they’re also a decent deal on storage boxes. They’re cuter than the plastic Rubbermaid ones I have anyway!

Back to school deals

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

I apologize for the lack of posts the past few days. It’s back to school time and I’ve spent quite a bit of time at the schools trying to get schedules fixed and things like that. I don’t remember high school being so crazy when I was going! So, I’m back and thought I’d remind you to start checking Target, Kmart and Walmart for those back to school markdowns! Once school starts, the prices start falling. This year, I only bought the bare minimum for school and will pick more up during the clearance sales. If you play your cards right, you can pick up enough crayons, pencils and notebook paper to last you and a small country for the rest of the school year and maybe next year as well! Happy shopping!

Mineral Make Up From Ulta

Monday, August 20th, 2007

I ordered this mineral make-up set from Ulta a few weeks ago. I know I posted about it here, so I wanted to report back with a review. Let me just say that I LOVE this stuff! I know there’s a lot of hype over mineral make-up these days. I haven’t tried Bare Minerals, but I did try Philosophy’s version a year or so ago. I was NOT at all impressed.

Ulta’s kit is a different story! I love the way it goes on. The brush that comes with it is fantastic, too! If you want to try mineral make-up, this is definitely an affordable way to go.

Free Silver Jewelry

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Have I blogged about this site before? I really don’t know! I was totally addicted to this site a few Christmases ago. I blew so much money there. It’s really easy because the items are just $5.99 shipped and you think that isn’t much to spend for a nice pair of earrings or a cute little ring or a must have pendant. Because it’s mostly impulse buying, you don’t realize how much you’re spending until the bills show up!

It’s still going strong. Items change about every 15 minutes unless one sells out. You need to buy it when you see it because you really don’t know when it’s going to show back up! I can honestly say everything I’ve purchased has been decent quality and worth $6.

Keep them occupied for hours!

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Keep them occupied for hours with this fabulous Little Tikes 3-in-1 Build & Draw Activity Table. Originally $179.99, this table is marked down to $44.12! This thing is huge and looks like it would keep little ones occupied for long periods of time allowing mom to catch a break. ;) The reviews on the table do say it’s hard to assemble and the box might come beat up, so remember that it ships in its original packaging. Still, for $44 and free shipping, I’d take my chances. I think it’s a steal!

Monday, August 13th, 2007

dollar_20sign.jpgAs summer comes to an end, you can snag some really good bargains online. If you know where to look and what to look for, you will find yourself saving money and wondering why you haven’t been doing this for years!

What’s on sale right now?
Most of the things you’d use in the summer are on sale right now including swimming pools, pool supplies, bathing suits, summer clothes, outdoor entertaining items(picnic items, gazebos, etc.,) outdoor toys, and bikes.

Why buy now?
Buy now for either next year or gifts for the holiday for tremendous savings. Check out Target, Toys R Us and some of the other outdoor stores online for deals on bikes and outdoor riding toys that you can stash away for the holidays.
