As you’re browsing online at your favorite stores, look to see if they have an email newsletter. Chances are, they do, and if they do, they probably send out their special offers and deals in that newsletter. Once you’re on the email lists for your favorite stores, you’ll find yourself getting advance info about sales, specials and deals.

Sometimes you’re not sure where to start when looking for an item online. When that happens to me, I hit Google Product Search. Formerly known as Froogle, Google Product Search is a price comparison site that can steer you in the right direction. Just enter the name of the product or item you’re looking for and hit search. Once the results pop up, you can sort by price, most relevant and a few other options. It’s a very useful tool!
There are other price comparison sites out there, but I’ve found Google’s to be the most reliable. Many of the others allow merchants to advertise and place their products higher in search results, but Google doesn’t and that is evident from their indexes.

You may not realize it, but may stores have “one day specials” or “daily deals” in which they feature one product at a reduced price. Sometimes the deals are really good, but sometimes they’re just so-so. You’ll have to watch your favorite sites and see how their daily “deals” stack up.
One site that generally has a good daily deal is Best Deal Magazines. Best Deal Magazines specializes in offering magazines at a reduced price. Each day, they feature a different magazine and most of the time, the price can’t be beat. To make things even better, they usually offer a coupon code to sweeten the deal. It’s not unheard of to get a one-year magazine subscription for under $2 here. You just have to play the game and wait for what you want.

As I mentioned earlier, JC Penney is having a 4th of July sale. They aren’t alone! Take a glance on the web and you’ll find plenty of stores with holiday sales!
Macy’s is also having a huge 4th of July sale! They have sales in every department including a big sale in the swim department. I always find good deals at Macy’s, so I’m sure you can find something, too!
Sears is known for their holiday sales. Check them out. Along with apparel sales, you’ll find grills and Craftsman items on sale.
K-Mart is celebrating the day with savings on outdoor furniture, clothing, outdoor toys and much more. I bet you can find a few Martha Stewart items on sale!

Many online stores now have the option to pick up your online orders in the store. When you’re shopping, look for something that says “ship to store” and you can save money on shipping charges.
Stores such as JC Penney offer reduced shipping charges if you pick up at your local stores, but others, including Linens ‘N Things, Sears, and Best Buy offer free shipping on most items if you order online and pick up in the store! Even Wal-Mart now offers in-store pick-up in select areas. You’ll have to check their website for availability.
Some stores such as Sears and Circuit City even have a time guarantee for when your order will be available. Sears will give you a $5 coupon if your order is not ready when they say it will be!
